More Green Cleaning Tips for Your Grove City Residence
The right kind of green…
It certainly helps to do a little cleaning each day, rather than letting it build up. The good news is all those awful smelling chemicals aren’t necessary in order to get a sparkling clean result. You can clean just as effectively the green way, with products found right in your pantry.
Shower Curtains. If your shower curtain has scummy residue or mildew all over it, don’t toss it out. You can simply wash it in the washing machine with a little bit of bleach and detergent. Vinegar will also do the trick. Wash it on gentle and re-hang to dry.
Chrome and Fixtures. Many people buy chrome polish or use a product like glass and mirror cleaner to polish their chrome and fixtures. However, you can easily restore the shine and luster by using a lemon juice and baking soda paste. A toothbrush helps out with this task. Allow the paste to dry after applying with the toothbrush and then wipe with a soft cloth until shiny.
Mineral Deposits. Do you get water spot stains on your chrome or brass? This comes from hard water with lots of mineral, although it’s not hard to get rid of. Saturate some paper towels with white vinegar and wrap the chrome or brass objects with the towels overnight. The last step is to come back and gently scrub the mineral deposits away with mild soapy water and a toothbrush, and then dry until it shines once more. It may take a couple of rounds to rid it completely, but this method does work!
Doing consistent cleaning is the best way to avoid mildew and soap scum. Also, preventing moisture is key, so allow your vent fan to run while showering and dry things off as much as possible to prevent mold growth. Mold can seriously impact your health, so it’s crucial to prevent it. A squeegee can also be very helpful in the shower area.
It’s easy to go green in the bathroom. The same tips we’ve shared here can also be used to clean grimy shower doors. Keep the air clean and enjoy a fresh scent with these simple cleaning products and toss the chemicals in the trash!
